VCAAA Offering Ventura County Residents Food Service Options at No Cost

Food Service Options:

1. Food Delivery Box- 28-day meal box with a combination of shelf stable options and produce. Boxes are delivered twice monthly; full-service delivery or door-to-car pick-up option available,
2. Senior Nutrition Meals- Daily single meal pick-up or home delivered option. Offered Monday through Friday. Includes a frozen or fresh cooked meal (varies by cities).
3. Restaurant Meal Delivery- Three meals daily from local restaurants. NEW-ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS!


To qualify for the Food Box Delivery, client must:
1. Be 60 or older or have a disability (regardless of age),
2. Live in Ventura County (and NOT living in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Board and Care, Residential Care Facilities (RCF) or at an Adult Residential Facilities (RSN),
3. Be unable to leave their home (due to VC mandate and/or because they physically can’t),
4. Be limited in food supply and don’t have enough food supply to last them a few days, and
5. Have limited resources (i.e. are low income or have too many expenses and they cannot afford to purchase from a meal delivery service, does not have assistance cannot afford to purchase through meal delivery service online- being low income is NOT a requirement).

1. Be 60 or older,
2. Live in Ventura County (and NOT living in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Board and Care, Residential Care Facilities (RCF) or at an Adult Residential Facilities (RSN),
3. Be unable to leave their home (due to VC mandate and/or because they physically can’t),
4. Be limited in food supply and don’t have enough food supply to last them a few days, and
5. Have limited resources (i.e. are low income or have too many expenses and they cannot afford to purchase from a meal delivery service, does not have assistance cannot afford to purchase through meal delivery service online- being low income is NOT a requirement).

For Restaurant Meal Deliveries, client must:
1. Be 65 or older or 60-64 and at high-risk as defined by the CDC, including:
-Individuals who are COVID-19 positive (as documented by a state/local public health official or medical professional),
-Individuals who have been exposed to COVID-19 (as documented by a state/public health official or medical professional) or
-if you are an individual with an underlying condition,
2. Live in Ventura County (and NOT living in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), Board and Care, Residential Care Facilities (RCF) or at an Adult Residential Facilities (RSN),
3. Live alone or live with one other program-eligible adult,
4. Not be currently receiving assistance from other state or federal nutrition assistance programs (i.e. CalFresh/Food Stamps),
5. Receive no more than $74,940 in income for a household of one (1) and $101,460 for a household of two (2) per year, and
6. Affirm an inability to prepare or obtain meals from any other sources.


NOTE:
 You MUST be home when food is being delivered,
 You MUST show your identification to the delivery driver or when picking up the food from VCAAA to verify identity.
